Vibrators Are A Girls Best Friend. Do you want to buy a vibrator but not sure what you want in a vibrator? No worries! I’m here to answer your questions!

These vibrators are meant for both external and internal usage, their button/dial typically comes at the bottom which is where the charger or battery.

Vibrator Types

We’ll be discussing today, this vibrator is an external/internal toy that vibrates and its shape is phallic.

Now there are various other vibrators, used for various things, however the vibrators we’re going over today are the phallic shaped vibrators.

Vibrator Size

Lets start here! You don’t need to buy a huge vibrator, the average size penis is 6-6.5 inches.

If you want a larger vibrator you can 100% get one, however I’d really suggest something comfortable that you can thoroughly enjoy, maybe that means getting larger, maybe it means getting smaller.

This is for your pleasure, so the size should be something you feel happy with to enjoy.

If you’re having a hard time deciding what you want to get then I would suggest going with something about 6-6.5 inches then go bigger or smaller depending on the size of it. This is a great place to start, but do what feels comfortable, better to start smaller and enjoy it than to go to big and be uncomfortable.

A good way to look at how big this would be is to take a measuring tape and straight up pull down 6 inches!

Vibrator Battery

You’re investing in this vibrator, yay! Now why am I talking about the battery?

Because it matters, there are two types of batteries you can do! You can do either a battery operated toy or a rechargeable toy.

Regular Batteries:

Here’s the thing with batteries, the moment you put the batteries in the strength of the toy starts to die soon after and you have to have batteries on hand.

I recall hunting for batteries because my vibe had died…

I was stripped down to my sports bra, almost there! Just moments away from going over the edge into utter bliss, and what happened? My batteries died… Jonesing for an orgasm I raced to my living room, half wild and sweaty and ripped open remotes.

I tore open the junk drawer and thought hard about where I might have spares… I fell short, none in my house! So I got dressed and went to CVS looking like a crazed woman and got batteries. I raced back home, tore off my pants and finished my goal.

While batteries are not my favorite, they may be for some people and that’s totally ok. You may find a toy you love that battery operated, and that’s great! Just be prepared.

I personally still have some battery operated toys that I love! So don’t let a battery operation stop you from getting a toy you love.

Rechargeable Toys:

Rechargeable batteries keep their strength the entire time that their charged. They also hold their charge for a very long time, longer than batteries I’ve found, from my personal experience.

Once they start to die then they let you know, so you get a little warning from the toy that it needs to be recharged. This is my personal preference when it comes to toys…

When you buy your first vibrator, the battery operated option is a great choice.

Dial VS Button

When you get your toy you will either have a dial or buttons. Both work just fine but here’s the difference between them.

Dial:

The benefit of getting a dial based toy is simplicity, you simply turn the dial to increase or decrease vibration intensity. This toy will only vibrate, you can control 100% of the strength of the vibration through the dial.

If you want the strength to go up a little you turn the dial a little, you can turn it all the way or all the way down, you have full control.

Button:

These toys typically come with low, medium and high choices for vibrations. Then you have a variety of pulse options, sometimes they have two buttons, one for on/off and sometimes they have a separate one for pulse options.

They can also have one button that does all of the controlling, from the strength to the vibrations.

Now you don’t have as much control over the vibrations as you would if it were a dial, however that doesn’t make it a bad option either, I typically just jump straight to the vibration I’m in the mood for!

Vibrator Material

What should my vibrator be made of?

ABS hard plastic or silicone is what I would recommend.

Their non-porous which means you don’t have to worry about bacteria getting into the small holes and stay there!

You really want to be able to clean your toy properly, if your toy is made of either of these materials it’ll make it easy to clean.

While there are other safe materials out there, in regards to a vibrator most likely not.

These other safe materials if you happen across them however and want them would be metal, glass and treated wood. The chances of them vibrating are just on the slimmer side.

The materials that I don’t recommend would be TPR and Jelly.

Lubricant

There are several types of lubricant’s out there, lets talk about a few.

Water-Based: If you get a silicone made toy then you want to get a water-based lubricant because silicone eats silicone.

Water-based is great for vaginal use, if it happens to get tacky, add a sprinkle of water and voila you’ve brought it back to life!

Flavored lubes are water-based and delicious which make them great for foreplay!

Hybrid lubricants: are a mix of water-based and silicone lubricant, however because of a silicone in the hybrid lubricants. I wouldn’t recommend them for your silicone toys.

Silicone Lubricant: This particular lubricant is great for anal, seeing as it doesn’t become tacky with thrusting. It’s also great for the shower because it doesn’t rinse away right away in the shower.

However silicone eats silicone so you can’t use silicone lube with silicone toys.

If you get a toy with ABS hard plastic, feel free to use silicone lubricant or hybrid lubricant, water-based also works great as well!

Pricing

Ok, so you’ve picked out the size, battery, button type and material you’re looking for in a toy! But how much do you spend on it?

Look I’m not going to give you a price range, what I’m going to tell you is that it depends on what you want to do.

Say that you are figuring out what you want in a toy and it’s your first toy… Then I recommend spending less, figuring out what you really enjoy about a toy.

However, if you’re all about the vibrator then invest, seriously! It’s worth it and so are you. A toy you invest not only lasts, but will give you everything you want.

I am positive you can find a product within your price range, but do not be afraid to pay for something you actually want.

Warranty

Most toys that are on the higher end come with a warranty in the box. The length of that warranty varies, but please please please, register your warranty when you buy your vibrator.

I don’t want your toy to be faulty, who does? However, everybody has a fluke, it’s part of life and when you’re making an investment like this you want to register your warranty.
